Admission to Reception

Statutory schooling starts in the year a child is five. Southwark manage the application process. Parents should contact the local authority for guidance and details of how to apply. Reception places must be applied for directly from Southwark, even if your child attends our Nursery. Please click on the link below to find out about primary admissions for Southwark schools.

Places are allocated taking into account:

  1. Looked after children and children who were looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted (or became subject to a residence/special guardianship order).
  2. Children who have brothers or sisters attending the school at the time of entry.
  3. Children who have a specific social/medical need or psychological needs which the school is best placed to meet (backed up by professional advice from the relevant professional as to why the school is necessary, and agreed by the head teacher).
  4. The child living nearest to the school as measured from the front door of the child’s home along the shortest safe walking route to the school’s main gate.
